Alantra
The UK business of Alantra completed 28 deals worth over £2.6bn over the judging period. Private equity firms were involved in 18 and across these deals Alantra worked with more than 30 PE houses, some for the first time. Highlights over the period included introducing businesses to their first institutional investor, including those from international markets (Strong Roots’ investment from US-based Goode Partners); using debt advisory expertise to raise acquisition finance (sk:n’s facility to acquire Adonia Medical Group); combining sector expertise, relationships and full-service skills to create successful partnerships (supported Inflexion to buy back Aspen Pumps from 3i and MML’s acquisition of GCP-backed Arrow Business Communications); and delivering premium results on exit (Horizon Capital’s sale of Connexas to AddSecure).
Being part of an international group meant we were well prepared for lockdown as we had seen what some of our overseas offices had been through. We have also seen real benefit from leveraging the combination of our deep sector knowledge, execution excellence and cumulative experience. Having been through a number of downturns, the senior team at Alantra understand the focus that is needed to create the right solutions for our clients.
